4. Are there any health risks I should be aware of?


While traveling with VSA you will be in a Malaria and Bilharzia free zone.
The drinking water is safe throughout the journey (South African tap water is rated as the 6th best in the world) and there is plenty of bottled water available to purchase en route if you prefer.
HIV and Aids is a problem in South Africa however you will only be at risk if you partake in unprotected sex or intravenous drug taking.
There are compulsory inoculations for travelers entering South Africa, please check with your doctor to ensure your polio, tetanus & yellow fever jabs are up to date.
The biggest risk would be our hot sun, please bring sunscreen hats and UV filter sunglasses.
